Erica Canaday is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with an expertise in providing psychotherapy services to individuals in healthcare settings. She has over 10 years of experience working with individuals and families as an agent of support and guidance. Erica earned her Master of Social Work degree and her Graduate Certificate in Substance Abuse from East Carolina University. During her time at ECU, she co-authored a publication in The Journal of Human Behavior in the Social Environment. Erica then transitioned to New Jersey where she became a member of The NJ Alliance for Culture Change; helping to lead innovative and person-centered approaches in healthcare settings. Erica continued to work in leadership positions as a social worker, giving her the opportunity to expand upon her expertise and skill set related to psychosocial aspects of patient care and treatment. Her continued growth in Clinical Social Work and behavioral health included her obtaining specialized training to become a Certified Dementia Practitioner, and Certified Eden Associate. Erica utilizes her compassion, experience, training, and skills set in her therapeutic approaches to improve patient overall well-being. In 2016, Erica returned to the Hampton Roads area where she considers to be home. Upon her return to Hampton Roads, she has continued to remain passionate and dedicated in her role as a clinical social worker in healthcare settings. In Erica’s free time, she enjoys traveling, spending time with family, friends, and spoiling her dog.
