Johnnie Lawrimore received her bachelor of nursing with honors from Hampton University School of Nursing, where she helped to develop a self care model for nursing students. She went on to earn her Master of Science in Nursing with Honors from South University in Savannah, Georgia, in which her focus was on reeducating the diabetic patient. Along with her accomplishments as an honor graduate, she holds a certification as a geriatric resource nurse, bariatric resource nurse, and certified preconception peer educator. She is board certified by the American Nursing Credentialing Center.
Johnnie’s focus in practice is to help patients & their families break barriers that prevent them from having a better quality of life, while living with chronic diseases. Her philosophy is to treat her patients as if they are her family members while respecting cultural and spiritual differences. She extends support to our local communities through a variety of volunteerism and health care advocacy efforts. She is an active member of several professional organizations and serves several universities, IE., GWU, ODU, University of Cincinnati, Walden University, and other NP programs.
Johnnie is a native of North Carolina and has lived up and down the eastern seaboard. She and her husband are avid football fans. Her favorite pastime is spent with her family and those precious grandchildren, as well as her fur baby, Onyx.
