Shirley Dodson-McAdoo is Nurse Practitioner with Mid Atlantic Long Term Care who takes pride in providing excellent care to all of her patients and treats them much like her own family members. Shirley graduated from the University of Arkansas with a Bachelors Degree in Nursing. She then worked as an RN for 20 years in emergency, critical care, and heart surgery. She completed her Adult Nurse Practitioner education at the Medical College of Virginia (MCV) now called Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) with focuses on cardiac and hospitalist. Shirley participated in the governor’s task force to improve women’s health in rural areas. She also founded a non-profit and rural health clinic with focus on women’s health. She is certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).
Shirley truly enjoys her time spent in long term care, and in her spare time, she enjoys where she lives in the northern neck of Chesapeake Bay spending time in nature, gardening, and traveling.
