As a Certificate Shame Informed Treatment Specialist, Sarah helps clients work through and overcome their shame so they can claim — or reclaim — their self-worth. People with depression, mood disorders, substance abuse problems, or poor self-esteem may have shame at the root of those issues. The trauma you may have experienced can sometimes lead to shame. Through a collaborative relationship with clients, we will work through shame, allowing you to identify and experience what you’re feeling. Shame can prevent us from seeking help, together, you can overcome. As Fred Rogers once said “Anything that’s human is mentionable, and anything that is mentionable can be more manageable. When we can talk about our feelings, they become less overwhelming, less upsetting, and less scary.”
