National Winter Skin Relief Day 2022

National Winter Skin Relief Day

We all know winter can be tough, especially for those of us with sensitive skin. Throughout the next few months, try to stay warm and follow these 7 tips on how to face the cold while keeping your skin healthy!

Daily MoisturizingLotion Moisturizing

This is a given, but very important! Such a simple and soothing task can make all the difference in your hands and face which suffer the most in the winter. Find your favorite moisturizer that makes your skin feel rejuvenated and lather up daily!

Vitamins

Make sure you are getting your nutrients and correct vitamins. In the winter, we aren’t getting as much Vitamin D, so a daily vitamin packed full of Vitamin D, Collagen, Vitamin C, fish oil and other nutrients you need will help your overall body and skin.

Humidifier

Humidifiers are a great way to keep your bedroom or living spaces less dry in the winter months. Keeping moisture in the air helps not only your skin from drying out, but your airways as well. Ever wake up with a dry mouth or sore throat in the winter? Try a humidifier!

Stay Hydrated

Drink lots of water! We all know we should drink more water year-round, but in the winter, drinking more water can help your skin stay hydrated and not dry out.

Clothes for Sensitive Skin

Wear what you feel comfortable in! Irritated skin is often caused by itchy clothes or allergens. Year round, but especially in the winter, make sure you are treating your skin with kindness by wearing the materials that agree with your skin.

Face coverings and gloves

Another obvious tip, but a scarf and some gloves can go a long way from keeping that harsh wind from hitting you in all the wrong ways. Don’t forget to always pack extra hats, scarves, and gloves in your car, just in case!

Chapstick

Finally, use Chapstick!! While the lips are only in the skin family, they are important to keep protected from wind and dryness. Quality Chapstick and daily application can help you to feel your best.
